Puta Madre

This Mexican restaurant is a gem tucked away on a pedestrian street near the Domkyrke. With a sensuously burlesque décor in red velvet, you are guaranteed the largest selection of tequilas in the Nordic region with more than 160 varieties to choose from. The food menu offers an exciting mix of traditional Mexican flavours with taquitos, ceviche and empanadas (veggie options too). Be warned: a single Piquant Chili Habanero from Tijuana is a lot to handle!

The family-operated restaurant provides an entertaining and buzzing atmosphere with a repertoire of music from the 1920s. There is a small outdoor terrace upstairs, which is mainly shaded but still offers a fresh environment to relax in. The fact the the owner greet the customers is definitely a charming aspect this restaurant.

Closed Sunday and Monday.

Tip for your Spanish – say “de puta madre” instead of “tu puta madre” We love mums! 😉

Feedback: “an interior design out of the ordinary”, “tostadas, carnitas and flank steak all hit the mark”, “empanadas with cactus and cassava melon. Amazing”
