Älska ödet is a performance that takes its starting point from Joel Heirå's diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. By getting to know the manifestations of the disease and highlighting the symptoms in the spotlight, he wants to adopt a playful, creative attitude to serious illness. With movement-based stage art, Joel engages in dialogue with a movement-based illness.
The idea of loving one's destiny has drawn inspiration from Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of Amor Fati, the meaning of which can be formulated as the possibility of affirming life as it turns out, even when it hurts.
With him on stage, he has John Holmström on piano.
Joel Heirås is a Gothenburg-based improviser, physical performer and musician who likes to work in the borderland between theatre, dance, music and poetry.
