In collaboration with Gothenburg's Poetry Slam
Gothenburg's Poetry Slam is back for the first evening of autumn at the Folkteatern with an open stage for poetry and the city's best booked acts! Captivating texts from both undiscovered storytellers, Swedish and international poetry slam masters and established book poets. In the last warm breath of the summer, they offer this year's Swedish champion, a very poetic battle rapper and a committed fool!
Everything is led as usual by the poet and writer Olivia Bergdahl.
Do you want to participate in the open stage? You can read a poem, maximum five minutes long, and you secure your place by sending an email to: gbgpoetryslam@gmail.com
Henry Bowers
The artist, the battle rapper, the translator and the poet - there are those who form the foundation of an entire scene - and what would Swedish spoken word be without Henry Bowers? Rhyme structures, rhythm, storytelling and performance, no one can seamlessly move from hip-hop to spoken word like him and take any crowd with a heel kick. Swedish champion in poetry slam back in 2003. He tours the world and now he finally comes to Foajén!
Malin Gustavsson
During the first SM final in the Poetry slam since the world became a contagion camp, it was really a given from the first moment who would be the winner. With sharp humor that exposes the darkest depths of life and a linguistic feeling for both the biggest and smallest things in life, sly rhymes and clear rhythm. She is the newest star in spoken word heaven, a Småland linguist straight from Malmö, one of the most literary and one of the funniest Swedish masters ever!
Stefan Jarl
Sweden's best, most and foremost documentary filmmaker, who stood straight-backed on the side of the most vulnerable throughout his long career, with the spotlight aimed at the darkest nooks and crannies of our community. Awarded both here at home and internationally, with several titles that have gone down in film history (Modstrilogin, Underkastensel, Godheten, etc.). Fifty years in the profession and over eighty in life and on top of everything also writing! The latest book (An engaged fool's penultimate sigh) came out in 2021 and now he's coming to Foajén!
