They offer a varied selection of delicious drinks and although they don’t take reservations for the bar there’s plenty of room for drop-ins. There is often a cocktail of the day which is a little cheaper. And I love it when they give a small piece of carefully chosen food to accompany the cocktail and enhance its flavours. It’s the small details.

Bruno is a small cocktail bar which is connected to champagnebarens cosy courtyard. They have a great, sustainable approach to cocktail making in which they innovate with their neighbours’ “waste products”. They work as seasonal as possible and very close to the nature around them. What else would you expect from sustainability-leading Gothenburg?! As a result, you can treat yourself with delicious cocktails, including one with roasted chestnuts from the chestnut tree in the courtyard. It’s small and intimate with a party-vibe playlist.

I love bars hidden behind unmarked doors. And Stranger, located at Kungstorget 14, is a basement cocktail bar that’s tucked between Tranquilo and Jesper. Ring on the door, ask nicely if you can come in, and enjoy a great selection of cocktails. The atmosphere created with the music and lighting, with lots of private, small seating areas, makes Stranger the perfect spot for a weekend evening catching up with friends. The Irish Coffee cocktail with a strong flavour and yet well-balanced touch will keep your eyes wide open for the rest of the evening!
